Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

Where to begin….

Once upon a time at a silent disco fundraiser for Parkinson’s, there was a woman called Jo.

As she stood on her very own podium (thanks Ove), in her very own rather extra bonnet (thanks Katie), she surveyed a sea of blue.

Blue wigs

Blue capes

Blue sequined hot pants (yes James, we can never un-see that outfit)

Blue frocks

Neon shoes, bow ties and braces!

Basically a glorious view of family and friends, old and new.... all kitted out and bringing their disco A-game to change perceptions of Parkinson’s.

Parkinsons is a shit show….no doubt about it, but for me, it has certainly brought with it a fair amount of joy. This was one of those occasions.

The singing, the glitter, the selfies, the interpretive dance. It was Spectacular Spectacular.

So many people worked hard to make the evening a success. Donations were generous and over 3000 was raised. Boom!

The night took its toll and fatigue has kicked my arse severely since the event, but it was worth it for the memories alone!

Love and joy to all of you

Jo
